INSET Weekend for Drama Teachers
Friday 21 – Sunday 23 November 2008, ALRA, London

ALRA (the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) is offering drama teachers from across the UK the opportunity to participate in a practical INSET weekend designed specifically to explore different approaches and solutions to teaching drama in schools, including practical exercises in acting technique, movement and voice.

This INSET weekend focuses on what drama schools want from prospective students. To this end we spend the initial session of the weekend discussing auditions and the skills required. Later in the weekend we dedicate a practical session to the audition process, concentrating on ways in which to prepare students for drama school auditions.

“This weekend course introduces new creative ideas and practical skills that will refresh and inspire your professional practice. We are delighted to be offering this course.”
Clive Duncan, Programme Director – Acting

All classes throughout the weekend are taught by regular ALRA tutors and are aimed at secondary, specialist and non-specialist drama teachers.

ALRA offers this course free of charge although teachers will need to pay for and arrange their own accommodation and food (a list of local B&B’s is available from ALRA).
