Theatre Experience Summer School
The Theatre Experience Course at ALRA is aimed at anyone who is interested in applying to drama school or those that have an interest in theatre and wish to improve their acting skills. The course will give you a taste of what life is like at drama school and test your expectations and aspirations against the realities of vocational training.
Accents Workshop (Alra North)
Course Leader: Natalie Grady (Voice Tutor and Accent coach)
This one day intensive course is aimed at actors looking to further their training and enhance their knowledge of accents. We will look particularly at RP and Standard American.
Exploring Shakespeare (Alra North)
Course Leader : Natalie Grady
A 3 day course aimed at those considering drama school or those who wish to further their skills and enhance their knowledge of Shakespeare.
There are limited places on this course.
Dates
1st, 2nd & 3rd August
10am – 4pm, with a one hour break for lunch
Cost: £89 (payable directly to Natalie Grady)
Inset course: Drama School Auditions
Teachers and lecturers preparing their students for Drama School auditions are now able to join us on the audition panel for a day to improve the chances for their students at audition.
Observe the audition process with the panel, and sit in on detailed discussions about what you’ve seen. The day ends with an opportunity to discuss the process with senior staff at ALRA.
Maximum places: two per audition day.

A one day workshop aimed at those applying to drama schools or actors who wish to further their audition technique.

A one day workshop aimed at those applying to drama schools or actors who wish to further their audition technique.
First Aid at Work: 3 Day HSE Approved Course
With special emphasis for theatre practitioners.
This course covers the practical skills needed by a First Aider in the modern theatre workplace. The course will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with First Aid emergencies.

Yellow Academy
Is a week long summer school particular aimed British East Asian students. In collaboration with Yellow Earth Theatre Company the course is designed to give you an idea of what training at a drama schools is all about; there are practical classes, talks and rehearsals with a public showcase of work on the very last evening. We hold workshop auditions in Manchester and London and, if you are successful, Yellow Academy is entirely free.

The ALRA Outreach Program

'Acting for the Stage' course for Deaf/BSL users
These courses ran in July 2010, and were a fantastic success. After two weeks of intensive rehearsals with Director David Ellington, Steven Webb's moving play 'Shotgun Wedding' played to full houses each night on the 15, 16 and 17 July.
Then the 'Acting for Camera' course began and Sam Dore set a new group of students off producing two short films. To view them, click on the links below:
